Iraqi troops recapture important bases of "Islamic countries"



　イラクのアバディ首相は先月３１日、過激派組織「イスラム国」の重要拠点・北部のタルアファルを「イスラム国」から奪還したと発表した。



　アバディ首相は先月３１日に声明を発表し、「タルアファルが祖国に戻った」などと、奪還作戦で勝利したことを宣言した。



　タルアファルは、「イスラム国」が“首都”と位置づける隣国シリアのラッカにつながる戦略的に重要な拠点で、先月２０日からイラク軍が奪還作戦を進めていた。



　アバディ首相は「イスラム国」に対し、「どこにいようとも、待っているのは降伏か、死だ」と、今後も「イスラム国」の掃討を進める考えを強調した。



　「イスラム国」はイラク国内にある数少ない拠点の１つを２週間足らずで失ったことになり、組織の弱体化を物語るものと言えそうだ。
