きょうは防災の日です。ことしの政府の総合防災訓練は首都直下地震で首都圏各地が激しい揺れに襲われたという想定で行われ、国や自治体の担当者が災害対応や連携の手順などを確認しました。

さらに、臨時の閣議で、人命救助を第一に、全国から自衛隊や警察、消防などの部隊を被災地に派遣し、救助や消火活動に全力を尽くすことや、膨大な数の被災者に対する避難所や生活必需品の確保に努めることなど基本的な方針を決定しました。



午前９時からは、安倍総理大臣が訓練のための記者会見を行い、「引き続き同程度の地震、火災などに厳重に警戒し、お互いに助け合い落ち着いて行動してください」などと呼びかけました。このあと安倍総理大臣は、関東の１都３県と５つの政令指定都市が神奈川県小田原市で合同で行っている防災訓練を視察しました。
